Middle School Science Teacher
Start Date: August 2026


The Role

We are seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and student-focused Middle School Science Teacher to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will teach general science across Grades 6 - 8, inspire curiosity about the natural world, and support students in developing strong foundational skills in scientific inquiry. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence in core concepts across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science while preparing them for the more specialised programmes in High School.


The School

Founded in 2016, the school is a well-established K12 international school located at the base of the historic YuQuan Mountain in Haidian District, Beijingan area known for academic achievement and its proximity to major universities. Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Teach high-quality Middle School Science classes across Grades 6 – 8.
  • Prepare engaging lessons that follow the school’s curriculum and support conceptual understanding in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to support students with different learning styles and learning needs.
  • Promote inquiry, hands-on exploration, and experiment-based learning.
  • Use technology and modern laboratory equipment to strengthen the student learning experience.

Curriculum Development

  • Refine Middle School Science units to ensure they remain current, engaging, and aligned with international standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to connect concepts across subjects and grade levels.
  • Support students as they prepare for progression into High School science pathways.


Student Assessment and Support

  • Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, laboratory activities, projects, and assignments.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress and understanding.
  • Identify students who require enrichment or additional support and provide appropriate guidance.


Co-Curricular Activities

  • Support science clubs, STEM fairs, competitions, and enrichment events that build student interest in the sciences.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote scientific thinking and curiosity.

Professional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Science Department colleagues on planning, assessment design, and shared resources.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to whole-school events and activities.

Classroom and Laboratory Management

  • Maintain an organised, safe, and engaging classroom and laboratory environment.
  • Ensure chemical and equipment handling meets safety guidelines appropriate for Middle School learners.
  • Manage materials and resources responsibly.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential Requirements
    A degree in a science-related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, state certification, or national license (not TEFL/TESOL).
  • Experience teaching Science at Middle School level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across general science and a passion for inquiry-based learning.


Remuneration and Benefits
