The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering outstanding, child-centred learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), specifically working with Kindergarten-aged students (4–5 years old). Teaching will be underpinned by the UK Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, Development Matters guidance, and the Cayman Islands Early Years Inspection Framework (2024).
In addition to strong classroom practice, the role includes middle leadership responsibilities, including acting as Year Group Lead. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, team leadership, and the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning within the phase.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree along with an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, Bachelor of Education, or H.Dip.Ed in Early Years or Primary Education. Applicants must have a minimum of three years' recent experience within an EYFS setting, with a strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning approaches. Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a middle leadership role is essential.
In addition to the requirements for the teaching position listed above, the successful candidate:
- Will be an excellent Early Years practitioner with a strong understanding of child development and play-based pedagogy
- Will demonstrate the ability to lead, support, and inspire colleagues within a year group or phase
- Will have up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Development Matters, and best practice in early years education
- Will be a reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement and high standards
- Will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Will be confident in planning, assessment, and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners
- Will be fully IT literate and able to integrate technology appropriately within an Early Years setting
- Will be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and events
- Will understand character-based education and support the holistic development of each child
- Will be expected to uphold and support the Christian ethos of the school
- Prior experience in an international or multicultural school environment is advantageous
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range for the position is CI$51,950 – CI$71,950 per annum, commensurate with experience based on the school's salary scale. Benefits include:
