Maple Bloom International School is a growing British international school located in the Masaki district of Dar es Salaam. Maple Bloom is a Pearson Edexcel-approved centre. Its Primary programme follows the Pearson Edexcel iPrimary curriculum, providing a structured British educational pathway with clear academic progression. Small classes and support from experienced Teaching Assistants enable teachers to understand each child’s individual needs and provide a personalised and rewarding learning experience. The school is entering an exciting period of growth and is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Year 4 Teacher to join the team immediately.

The Role
- The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 4 class and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the Pearson Edexcel iPrimary curriculum.
- The teacher will create a positive and stimulating classroom in which children feel supported, challenged and confident in their learning. Teaching should develop secure foundations in core subjects while encouraging curiosity, independence, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
- Lessons and resources should be adapted to meet different learning needs, providing appropriate support and challenge so that every child has the opportunity to make strong progress.
- The teacher will assess learning through effective formative and summative methods, carefully monitor pupil progress and use assessment information to guide future planning and teaching.
- Working closely with experienced Teaching Assistants will be an important part of the role, ensuring that classroom support is used effectively and that individual pupils receive the attention they need.
- The successful candidate will communicate clearly and positively with parents through meetings, reports and regular updates. They will also work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, school improvement and the sharing of good practice.
- All teachers are expected to contribute positively to school events, extracurricular activities and the wider life of the Maple Bloom community.
Requirements
- Candidates should hold a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed, QTS or an equivalent credential and have at least three years of successful Primary teaching experience.
- Applicants should have experience teaching within a British, Pearson Edexcel or comparable international Primary curriculum, together with strong classroom-management, lesson-planning and assessment skills.
- Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and demonstrate a positive, adaptable and collaborative approach. A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of every child is essential.
- Previous international-school experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
